Scott Stratten Keep Going Until We Stop

Scott Stratten Keep Going Until We Stop, Tedx Oakville, Ca

Scott Stratten was the first person to contact me when I set up my website some 16 years ago. Since then we’ve collaborated on several inspirational movies and while we’ve both moved on from our movie days, we remain friends to this day.

In this video he shares some of his toughest moments, and the most important lesson he learned and an idea worth sharing!

Please be kind and pass this along – you never know who you will inspire!

Dream Up A Good Life – Jim Carrey

Dream Up A Good Life by Jim Carrey. This video reminds me of how important it is to allow myself to follow my soul’s call and shine.

Ask yourself “What is my soul calling me to do?”

Sit and listen, write down what comes to you and you’re on your way. There’s a gift you have within you right now that only you can bring to the world. Find it, share it, be it!

Diamond or Coal? by Barbara Williams

diamondI am a diamond..Whether I like it or not.

Coal is useful in holding heat which keeps others warm..But coal is also an air pollutant, is messy and eventually, burns out… and is easily replaceable.

I’m a diamond. There is not now nor will there ever be, another “me”…

Even when I try to convince myself or I allow others to convince me that I’m just another lump of coal…I commiserate with thoughts, people, and circumstances steeped in “impatience” or “ego” that tell me that it takes too long to become a diamond…

Diamonds are too expensive…
Not easily attainable…
Too much work to find, cherish and appreciate…EXACTLY!

To the human eye, I may appear flawed, but to my Creator, I am always perfect-inside and out. He is constantly polishing me and smoothing out my “rough edges”… Once I acknowledge, accept and surrender to what I have been created to be, I can no longer go back to a “coal-like existence”…

I’m a diamond…

I choose to Trust in The Process and release any thinking/people/circumstances that want to keep me in a coal-like state… Giving praise the Creator for helping me shine from within during the transformation process… Even when I appear to be or consider becoming complacent with being coal, The Creator helps me dig deeper within myself… It is then I see the coal crumble and the gleam of the diamond that I am shine through.

On the outside-The Creator assures me that the people that are meant to be a blessed presence in my life will dig deep to find me..And as a diamond, I am a blessing to others in being a unique and rare find that shines brightly in their lives…

Even when it appears my light has dimmed, I call on The Creator who is constantly polishing and shaping me so that I may continue to give Him the glory! I find the only time I am troubled is when I don’t remember my worth…

I’m a diamond…

With family and friends, at home, at work, in love…I AM A DIAMOND…

Ask yourself: Am I diamond or a lump of coal?

Allow yourself to be the diamond that The Holy Spirit created you to be and “shine on”

How I Stay Positive when terrorist attack…

How I Stay Positive when terrorist attack…I have three things to
share that I hope you will find helpful today. Please feel free
to share with your circle of friends and family.

My new favorite song that lifts my spirit, a powerful quote and
How I Stay Positive when terrorist attack….

Don’t let the evil actions of broken people define your view of
our world! Don’t be terrorized into a diluted, hopeless reality.

-Dr. Steve Maraboli

To me this is a reminder that not to let the actions of a “few” destroy your
awareness of all the good in the world.

When any negative events happen in the world or in my life… I have trained
myself to look for the good in it, the blessing…and I always find it, ALWAYS!

I know you must be thinking what is good about a terrorist attack David?

How I Stay Positive when terrorist attack…

Three things I focus on:

1) I look for the helpers, the first responders who rush in to save
total strangers often putting their own lives at risk! I am so
grateful for these brave souls…

2) Next I tune into the heroic stories of ordinary people who step up
and help immediately even thought they may be victims too or
passers-by, they take radical action to help.

3) Then I am always on the lookout for the miraculous to show up,
people that somehow when all the odds were stacked against them,
survive.

Looking for these 3 things always helps me remember the good.

Actually, the number of terrorist are relatively small and the media amplifies their
impact by hyper focusing on the story, sadly adding to the terror – so I turn off the
news on day’s like yesterday.

I turn on my favorite music, move my body and say a prayer for each of us.
I remember and give thanks that the majority of the 7 billion plus people on
this planet, are kind, loving, good people.

Now I invite you to listen to my new favorite song or play one of your own.

Clyde Terry, Emerging Leaders Academy

In California where the cost to keep a criminal behind bars is between $47,000 – $94,000 per year and 70% of offenders return to jail within 1 year of being released. One man created a program that is changing lives for the better.

There are positive solutions to our challenges and positive people out there working hard to make them happen Clyde Terry is building a world that works for everyone!

Clyde lives a life of service and leadership. After 10 years in the Marine Corps, he went on to serve as an LA County Sheriff for 25 years. He has worked most of his career in two of LA’s toughest communities Compton and Watts.

While serving as a Sheriff he noticed that he was arresting the same people year after year and knew there had to be a better way. The solution he developed is a program called the Emerging Leaders Academy (ELA) that is turning around and saving lives.

The Emerging Leaders Academy provides tools for self empowerment through guidance, mentoring and training.  ELA is a path to opportunities, providing participants with essential career developmental skills for traditional employment, entrepreneurship training and a therapeutic writing workshop, all being alternatives to criminal behavior and violence thereby empowering participants to take a new direction in life.

IT WORKS!  90% of the Emerging Leaders Academy graduates do not re-offend! Let that sink in.  9 out of 10 of the graduates go forward in life and become positive contributors to their families, communities and country.

One of the GREATEST stories ever told in Hollywood.

rocky-slyThis is one of the GREATEST stories ever told in Hollywood. Sylvester Stallone. One of the BIGGEST and Most famous American Movie superstars.

Back in the day, Stallone was a struggling actor in every definition. At some point, he got so broke that he stole his wife’s jewellery and sold it.

Things got so bad that he even ended up homeless. Yes, he slept at the New York bus station for 3 days. Unable to pay rent or afford food.

His lowest point came when he tried to sell his dog at the liquor store to any stranger. He didn’t have money to feed the dog anymore. He sold it at $25 only. He says he walked away crying.

Two weeks later,he saw a boxing match between Mohammed Ali and Chuck Wepner and that match gave him the inspiration to write the script for the famous movie, ROCKY.

He wrote the script for 20 hours! He tried to sell it and got an offer for $125,000 for the script. But he had just ONE REQUEST. He wanted to STAR in the movie. He wanted to be the MAIN ACTOR. Rocky himself. But the studio said NO.

They wanted a REAL STAR.

They said he “Looked funny and talked funny”. He left with his script. A few weeks later, the studio offered him $250,000 for the script. He refused. They even offered $350,000. He still refused. They wanted his movie. But NOT him.

He said NO. He had to be IN THAT MOVIE.

After a while, the studio agreed, gave him $35,000 for the script and let him star in it! The rest is history!

rocky-posterThe movie won Best Picture, Best Directing and Best Film Editing at the prestigious Oscar Awards.

He was even nominated for BEST ACTOR! The Movie ROCKY was even inducted into the American National Film Registry as one of the greatest movies ever!

And do You know the first thing he bought with the $35,000? THE DOG HE SOLD. Yes,Stallone LOVED HIS DOG SO MUCH that he stood at the liquor store for 3 days waiting for the man he sold his dog to. And on the 3rd day, he saw the man coming with the dog.

Stallone explained why he sold the dog and begged for the dog back. The man refused. Stallone offered him $100. The man refused. He offered him $500. And the guy refused. Yes,he refused even $1000.

And, Believe it or Not,Stallone had to pay $15,000 for the same dog he sold at $25 only! And he finally got his dog back!

And today, the same Stallone who slept in the streets and sold his dog JUST BECAUSE he couldn’t even feed it anymore, is one of the Most Successful Movie Stars in modern history.

Being broke is BAD. Really BAD. Have You ever had a dream? A wonderful dream? But You are too broke to implement it?

Whatever happens, Keep Dreaming and DOING! Doing and Dreaming. Even when they turn you away, Keep Doing and Dreaming. Keep your vision 100% focused on what YOU want!

Even when they shut you down, Keep Dreaming. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF EXCEPT YOURSELF!

rocky_workout_bPeople will judge You by HOW you look. And by WHAT You have. But please, Fight on! Fight for Your place in history. Fight for your glory. NEVER EVER GIVE UP!

Even if it means selling all your clothes and sleeping with the dogs, ITS OKAY! But AS LONG AS YOU ARE STILL ALIVE, Your STORY IS NOT OVER. TRUST ME.

Keep Up the Fight. Keep your dreams and hope alive. And never forget Stallone’s example, he did whatever it took to make his dream a reality and look how well he was rewarded for it! The same can happen to you!
