I went from being homeless to living at the beach!

Thankful for this job and this reminder…that I made it through being homeless!

Many years ago I helped frame and install all the glass in this building. The frame was one of the most complicated I ever worked on because there were so many angles in the face of the bldg.

I was actually living in my car when I got this job and it helped me work my way into a place and begin again, so I’ll always honor it!

Hard to believe it’s been 30+ years since I’ve worked in construction. By far I enjoyed glass work the most, we had an amazing team and lots of fun while creating places for people to live, work and shop!

While this building is in Yorba Linda, California. I built way more back east in NH and MA but this building on Weir Canyon Rd and the 91 Fwy – will always be special to me.

The Tree Outside My Window

I was inspired to write this a while ago – maybe almost a year and I figured since I’ve recently moved, that I better do it now or forget it. So here we go, hope you like it.

The Tree Outside My Window…

There’s been a tree outside my window that pretty much looks like millions of other trees of its kind on the planet. At first glance, it’s quite ordinary. Just a tree.

One day I was staring at it for a while and that’s when it hit me!

Starting at the base and working my way up, I could see how the tree would grow in a specific direction that would place it out of balance, and if it kept growing this way it could eventually fall over and die…but the tree, you see, self-corrected as it grew, always keeping in balance by stretching back towards the light of the sun…

I had this realization that helped me…I hope it may help you or someone you love.

I related to how when I find myself out of balance from time to time that there’s really only one solution “Leave It To God” and be just like the tree; you just have to trust everything will work out.

Even when we feel like we are out-of-balance or on the wrong path, if we stay focused on the light, on love, on all the good the world has to offer, like the tree you will self-correct as you grow…

I’ve lost two years of post!

I am so sad to announce that I have lost two years of my work on this site! I'm so disappointed there were so many helpful post, stories and links…  I will rebuild, it may take a minute or two but I will recover and continue, in 16+ years online I have been very fortunate that this is my first major issue! Please stay tuned and know I am getting things done as quickly as I can…

PS It's moments like these (Life's little surprises) that TEST even my ability to stay positive but I press forward, count my blessings and know EVERYTHING is really alright. This just gives me a new opportunity to make this site even better for you!

Flatter me, and I may not believe you.
Criticize me, and I may not like you.
Ignore me, and I may not forgive you.
Encourage me, and I may not forget you.
