MEET MR. POSITIVE

I Failed at Creating the Positive News Network.

And it may have been one of the best things that ever happened to me.

Nearly 30 years ago, I had a huge vision.

I wanted to create the world’s first Positive News Network — a place where people could discover some of the good happening in the world. An alternative to the doom and gloom news that dominates our airwaves.

I spent years pursuing that dream. I invested tens of thousands of dollars. And eventually, I thought I was finally on the verge of making it happen. An outside investment was coming together that would push everything forward.

Then it all fell apart.

I was crushed.

I started questioning my sanity and wondering what the hell I was doing.

One night, I was lying in bed angry, frustrated and bitching about everything that had gone wrong.

My wife rolled over, looked at me and said:

“Hey, Mr. Positive. Buck up.”

Something clicked.

I got out of bed, went downstairs and bought MrPositive.com.

That was the beginning of me starting over.

Again.

Not because I suddenly figured out how to be positive all the time.

I didn’t.

I’m HUMAN, just like you.

Life can be magnificent.

And sometimes life can be extremely shitty.

Over the years, I’ve learned that being positive isn’t looking away from reality.

It’s refusing to believe the worst part of reality is the whole story.

So I kept looking for the good.

And somewhere along the way, what began as a man on a mission to create a
Positive News Network became something much deeper and more important to me:

I Discovered the Power of Encouragement.

At my lowest point, I found a way to pivot. And every week since, for nearly 30 years, I’ve
had the privilege of encouraging people around the world through my emails.

And the beautiful thing is they’ve encouraged me right back. It’s a full circle!

I’ve experienced this over and over again, you cannot help another without helping yourself. 

That’s why today my favorite title isn’t author, entrepreneur, publisher, coach or founder.

It’s simply:

Professional Encourager.

Because I believe no one should go through life alone.

We humans need each other.

Encouragement is helping another human being find a little more courage,
hope or belief to keep going when their path gets challenging.

ENCOURAGEMENT IS LOVE IN ACTION.

That’s what Mr. Positive is about.

Not pretending everything is wonderful.

Not putting a happy face on pain.

Just looking for the good, encouraging one another, and reminding people
that they don’t have to walk through this life alone.

Funny how things work out.

I never did create the Positive News Network.

For a long time, I thought that meant I had failed.

What I couldn’t see then was that failure was pointing me toward my true purpose.

Instead, I found something even better — my life’s work.

Encouraging people.

Look for the good.
