Scott Sargeant: The Truth Will Set You Free

httpvh://youtu.be/gvqWGcy72xg

…for the last 18 years I’ve been living a lie, and I’ve been lying to you!

Some of you know that I had a tragic accident 18 years ago that left me paralyzed
from the neck down. What most of you don’t know is the truth that my ‘accident’
wasn’t an accident.

Please take 8 minutes to watch my TEDx talk to hear the truth of my story.

If you find it to be inspiring and valuable, please share it for others to
benefit from…

Driving Miss Norma

91-year-old who inspired thousands by skipping chemotherapy to go on end of life road trip has passed to life after life and we thank her for sharing her journey!

‘Over these past 12 months, all of us have learned so much about living, caring, loving and embracing the present moment’

Driving Miss Norma

Instead of undergoing cancer treatment she decided to take a road trip across the United States

Norma Jean Bauerschmidt’s travels have been followed by more than 400,000 people on the Facebook page “Driving Miss Norma”, which posted pictures and accounts of her journey.

Ms Bauerschmidt’s daughter-in-law Ramie, who set up the Facebook page, wrote that Ms Bauerschmidt had decided to take the trip last year after being diagnosed with uterine cancer and told by her doctor that surgery, radiation and chemotherapy were unlikely to treat the illness

“We found ourselves sitting in an OB/GYN office talking about treatment options,” a post read. “You know the drill: surgery, then radiation and chemo in some order. When the doctor was finished he asked her how she would like to proceed.

“A tiny woman at 101 pounds and under five-feet tall, an exhausted Norma looked the young doctor dead in the eye and with the strongest voice she could muster, said, ‘I’m 90-years-old, I’m hitting the road.'”

Ms Bauerschmidt set off from Michigan with her son Tim, daughter-in-law and their dog Ringo on 24 August 2015.

A post marking a year on the road said: “We have driven the RV nearly 13,000 miles and slept in over 75 different locations in 32 states.

“Miss Norma has experienced more ‘firsts’ than we can count. Big things, like riding in a hot air balloon or on a horse, to little things like getting a pedicure or having her first taste of key lime pie, oysters and fried green tomatoes. She has had her hair done by ten different stylists and has crossed the time zones 9 times (I think.)

“Over these past 12 months, all of us have learned so much about living, caring, loving and embracing the present moment. No matter where we are, when asked where her favorite spot has been on this trip, Norma now says, ‘Right here!’ We have also learned so much about the human spirit and the beauty of people from all over the world.”

Ms Bauerschmidt began hospice care in the town of Friday Harbour, San Juan Island, Washington – her final stop – in August when her health began to deteriorate.

The San Juan County Coroner Randall Gaylord confirmed Ms Bauerschmidt died on Friday morning.

Diamond or Coal? by Barbara Williams

diamondI am a diamond..Whether I like it or not.

Coal is useful in holding heat which keeps others warm..But coal is also an air pollutant, is messy and eventually, burns out… and is easily replaceable.

I’m a diamond. There is not now nor will there ever be, another “me”…

Even when I try to convince myself or I allow others to convince me that I’m just another lump of coal…I commiserate with thoughts, people, and circumstances steeped in “impatience” or “ego” that tell me that it takes too long to become a diamond…

Diamonds are too expensive…
Not easily attainable…
Too much work to find, cherish and appreciate…EXACTLY!

To the human eye, I may appear flawed, but to my Creator, I am always perfect-inside and out. He is constantly polishing me and smoothing out my “rough edges”… Once I acknowledge, accept and surrender to what I have been created to be, I can no longer go back to a “coal-like existence”…

I’m a diamond…

I choose to Trust in The Process and release any thinking/people/circumstances that want to keep me in a coal-like state… Giving praise the Creator for helping me shine from within during the transformation process… Even when I appear to be or consider becoming complacent with being coal, The Creator helps me dig deeper within myself… It is then I see the coal crumble and the gleam of the diamond that I am shine through.

On the outside-The Creator assures me that the people that are meant to be a blessed presence in my life will dig deep to find me..And as a diamond, I am a blessing to others in being a unique and rare find that shines brightly in their lives…

Even when it appears my light has dimmed, I call on The Creator who is constantly polishing and shaping me so that I may continue to give Him the glory! I find the only time I am troubled is when I don’t remember my worth…

I’m a diamond…

With family and friends, at home, at work, in love…I AM A DIAMOND…

Ask yourself: Am I diamond or a lump of coal?

Allow yourself to be the diamond that The Holy Spirit created you to be and “shine on”

Do what you can – where you are.

hungrySo I was on my way to meditate at the beach this morning after my workout…but the fog rolled in and it was totally covered so I decided to stop for breakfast.

While eating the thought came to me to buy some food for the homeless lady I saw at the bus stop on my way by…it was just a thought I left without buying her anything.

And then as I am driving away I see man holding a sign “I’m very hungry” – at first I want to just keep driving but then I just simply asked him what he wanted his request was so simple a breakfast sandwich and a soda from the nearby Burger King.

I hit the drive-thru, fulfilled his order and Doug was very happy and appreciative and I’m feeling pretty good too!

Then I am driving home and I see the same homeless woman sitting at the bus stop that I saw before and I just felt I couldn’t skip her and I made a U-turn, pulled up at the same drive-thru and ordered her a breakfast sandwich and a coffee.

The woman at the drive-thru said “See you in 10 minutes?”  with a smile. I just smiled back and said it was for my friend. Then I went to deliver breakfast to my sister at the bus stop.

When I dropped it off…just seeing her smile as she drank the warm coffee after sleeping out all night warmed my heart….

Now I share this not for you to say “oh look at what a wonderful thing “David did”  – I share this to ask you to look into your heart the next time you see another human who is hungry and if you can offer them a meal, a word, your smile…You’ll find you receive way more than you give!
